This privacy notice for Procolin (“we,” “us,” or “our”) describes how and why we might collect, store, use, and/or share (“process”) your information when you use our services (“Services”), such as when you:
- Download and use our mobile application Math Wheel (formerly Math Circle Roulette), or any other application of ours that links to this privacy notice
- Engage with us in other related ways, including support or communications
Questions or concerns? Contact us at procolintech@gmail.com. If you do not agree with this notice, please do not use the Services.
Summary of key points
- What we collect: Mostly gameplay data stored on your device (profile name, avatar, scores, streaks, preferences). If you choose optional backup, we also store account and progress data in Google Firebase. If ads are turned on, Google AdMob and its partners may collect device/ad identifiers.
- Crash reports: In release builds we use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes. Reports are anonymous (we do not attach your account ID). We do not use Firebase Analytics.
- Ads: The app can show Google AdMob banners and occasional full-screen ads. Ads may be turned off remotely. When ads run, they are requested as child-directed, under the age of consent, and G-rated (not personalized targeting by us).
- Sensitive data: We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as health, biometrics for identity, or government IDs).
- Who it is for: Math Wheel is an educational math game for families. Kids are often the main players; adults and others can play too. We do not knowingly sell personal information.
- Third parties: Google (Firebase Auth, Firestore, Crashlytics, AdMob, Sign-In, ML Kit) and Apple (Sign in with Apple). Draw-mode handwriting recognition runs on the device after a model download.
- Your choices: You can play without signing in. You can turn off notifications, set an optional Parents PIN, sign out, delete your backup account in Settings, reset local progress from Parents, or email us.

1. What information do we collect?
A. Information stored on your device (always available)
Math Wheel stores information locally on the device (for example via on-device preferences) so the game can run. This may include:
- Display / profile name and selected avatar (an in-app character ID, not a photo)
- Game scores, achievement progress, and related unlocks (avatars, music tracks, certificate progress)
- Certificate name, if you generate a completion certificate (typically a first and last name you type)
- Play streak data (current/best streak, related shields/milestones)
- App preferences: language (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French), sound/music, haptics, and play/comfort options (for example daily goal, input mode defaults, reduce motion, left-handed keypad, focus mode)
- Notification preference (whether local reminders are on)
- Optional Parents PIN, stored as a salted hash (not the PIN in plain text), plus related lock settings (for example lock links out of the app, lock settings, allow Hard mode)
- Limited session helpers (for example recent mistakes to review after a round)
- Small operational flags (for example whether first-run onboarding or home tips already ran; local counters used if ads are shown)
This on-device data stays on the device unless you use optional backup (below) or export/share something yourself (for example opening a certificate PDF, or using Rate / Share).
B. Optional account backup (Google or Apple)
You can play without an account. If you sign in to back up progress, we process:
- Authentication identifiers from Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple (account ID; email and/or name if that provider supplies them)
- Synced progress, which may include: profile name, avatar ID, scores, certificate name, language, notification preference, selected soundtrack, play preferences, streak data, onboarding/tips completion, hashed Parents PIN (if set), and backup timestamps
Synced data is stored in Google Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore under your user account.
- Sign out: stops cloud sync; local play data on the device typically remains.
- Delete account (in Settings): deletes your Firebase Auth user and cloud backup document. Local play data on the device may remain until you reset progress, clear app data, or uninstall.
C. Notifications
We may ask permission to send local reminders (weekly practice reminders and a streak-at-risk reminder). These are scheduled on the device. We do not use Firebase Cloud Messaging for push in the current app. You can disable notifications in the app and/or your device settings.
D. Handwriting / Draw answers (ML Kit)
If you use Draw mode, the app may download a handwriting recognition model and recognize strokes on the device using Google ML Kit. We do not operate a custom server that receives your ink strokes. Model download and recognition are provided through Google’s ML Kit components, subject to Google’s terms and policies.
E. Crash and diagnostic data (Firebase Crashlytics)
In release builds, the app uses Firebase Crashlytics to record crashes and some non-fatal errors so we can fix bugs. Typical crash data includes stack traces, device model, OS version, and app version. We do not set a Crashlytics user ID, so these reports are not tied to your backup account by us. Crashlytics is off in debug/test builds. We do not use Firebase Analytics.
F. Advertising (Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads)
The app includes Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and may show banner ads and occasional full-screen ads after a round. We can turn ads off remotely (they may be off while the app is growing). The Mobile Ads SDK is not initialized unless ads are enabled.
When ads are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect information such as:
- Device and advertising identifiers
- IP address and approximate location derived from IP
- Device/app information and ad interaction data
We request ads as child-directed, tagged for users under the age of consent, with a maximum G content rating. We do not ask you to create an advertising profile inside Math Wheel. We do not use App Tracking Transparency / IDFA tracking. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
G. Information you send us directly
If you email us (for example at procolintech@gmail.com), we receive the content of your message and any contact details you include.
H. What we do not collect (in the current app)
- We do not use Firebase Analytics or other in-app usage analytics dashboards.
- We do not collect payment cards or offer in-app purchases. The app is free to download as offered.
- We do not require a password created inside Math Wheel; optional sign-in uses Google or Apple.
- We do not use the camera or microphone.
- We do not collect precise GPS location.
- We do not operate school student-information systems.
2. How do we process your information?
We process information to:
- Provide and operate Math Wheel (gameplay, preferences, progress, streaks, unlocks, certificate PDF generation)
- Provide optional cloud backup and restore across devices when you sign in
- Provide optional Parents controls (PIN, limits, local progress reset)
- Schedule local reminders you allow
- Diagnose crashes via Crashlytics
- Show advertising (when enabled) via Google AdMob
- Enable Draw-mode recognition via on-device ML Kit
- Open links you choose (Privacy Policy, Rate, Share / store pages)
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law
3. What legal bases do we rely on?
Depending on where you live, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Performance of a contract / providing the Service you request
- Consent (for example notifications permission; optional sign-in; certain advertising/consent frameworks where required)
- Legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the Service, including crash diagnosis, in a privacy-respectful way)
- Legal obligations
If you are in Canada, we may rely on express or implied consent where applicable, and you may withdraw consent subject to legal limits by contacting us or using in-app/device controls.
4. When and with whom do we share information?
We may share information with:
| Party | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase Authentication & Cloud Firestore | Optional sign-in and cloud backup |
| Google Sign-In / Apple | Optional sign-in |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error diagnosis (release builds) |
| Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads (and partners) | Advertising when ads are enabled |
| Google ML Kit | Handwriting model download / on-device recognition |
| Professional advisors / authorities | If required by law or to protect rights and safety |
| Business transfers | Merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets |
We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some US state laws, “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising may still apply when ads are served by ad partners. Where required, we will honor opt-out requests submitted to procolintech@gmail.com and platform/OS ad controls.
5. Third-party services and links
The app may open third-party links (for example App Store / Google Play rating pages, this privacy policy in a browser) or show third-party ads when ads are enabled. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites, ads, or services we do not control.
6. How long do we keep your information?
- On-device data: until you reset relevant in-app data (for example Parents → Reset progress), clear app storage, or uninstall.
- Cloud backup: while your account remains active, or until you delete the account / we delete it after a valid request, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Crash reports: retained by Google Crashlytics according to Google’s retention practices.
- Support emails: as needed to respond and for legitimate business/legal records.
When we no longer need personal information, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably possible (backups may take additional time).
7. How do we keep your information safe?
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to our Service (including Firebase security controls for cloud backup, and hashing the optional Parents PIN). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Use the Services in a secure environment and protect your Google/Apple account.
8. Children’s and family privacy
Math Wheel is an educational math game for families. Kids are often the main players; adults and other ages can play too.
- A parent/guardian should supervise use on a shared device.
- Optional backup sign-in may involve Google/Apple account information. Parents should decide whether those features are used.
- Optional Parents controls can require a PIN for links out of the app (Rate, Share, Privacy, sign-in) and for changing settings, and can hide Hard mode. These controls are optional until a PIN is set.
- We do not knowingly condition playing on submitting more personal information than needed to play.
- We do not knowingly sell children’s personal information.
If you believe we have collected personal information from a child in a way that is not appropriate, contact procolintech@gmail.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict certain personal information, and to withdraw consent.
Easiest self-serve options:
- Use the app without signing in
- Sign out or Delete account in Settings (removes cloud backup/account; local play may remain)
- Parents → Reset progress (clears local scores/achievement progress)
- Disable notifications in Settings / device settings
- Clear app data or uninstall to remove remaining local data
- Use device advertising / tracking controls (iOS/Android)
Or email procolintech@gmail.com.
10. Do-not-track
There is no uniform DNT standard for mobile apps. We do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. Platform privacy controls (for example ad personalization / tracking permissions) are the practical controls for mobile. Math Wheel does not use App Tracking Transparency.
11. United States state privacy rights
If you live in a state with consumer privacy law (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and similar), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of certain data, and opt out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising, subject to legal limits.
